There is much improvement with v 9.04 at high compression -mx=9
and one click on a .deb is faster than 3 commands to compile a .tar

I mentioned in my post that the standard way is the prefered way. However, if someone wanted to use a newer version of 7zip they could download the deb file directly. I totally think that synaptic is better in terms of handling dependencies. Glad to see your remarks on the same :)</description>
