RedNoteBook: A graphical Diary for Ubuntu
Have you ever felt the need for having a diary on your Ubuntu machine. RedNoteBook is one such application which will give you the option of having a journal running on your machine. RedNotebook is a graphical diary and journal helping you keep track of notes and thoughts. It includes a calendar navigation, customizable templates, export functionality and word clouds. You can also format, tag and search your entries.

Installation
Installation of RedNoteBook is pretty easy.
1. Go to System > Administration > Software Sources.

2. Click the tab that reads Third-Party Software and click Add.
3. Add the following line
deb http://robin.powdarrmonkey.net/ubuntu jaunty/

4. Download the GPG key for RedNoteBook (Link at the end of the post).
5. In order to import the key on the Software Sources window go to the tab that reads authentication.
6. Click import key and import the GPG key that you downloaded.

7. Close the Software Sources window. On the consecutive window click Reload.

8. Now we need to install RedNoteBook. Drop to a terminal window and type the following command:
sudo apt-get install rednotebook

Depending on your connection speed the file will be downloaded and you should have rednotebook intalled. You can start rednotebook by going to:
Applications > Office > RedNoteBook

Hi,
There’s no need to use a terminal to do the package install for RedNotebook, it will show up in the graphical package manager too. In fact, you can perform the whole process in either graphical or command-line tools.
I’ve recently added SSL support to the whole repository too. Providing you have the apt-transport-https package installed, you can use https://robin.powdarrmonkey.net/ubuntu as your repository source (also works for fetching the key).
