Install Skype on Opensuse 11.2
Skype is one of the most popular voip service out there and is available across various platforms including Linux. We have earlier covered Installing Skype on Ubuntu on LinuxHub. Today we are going to see how to install skype on Opensuse. This is how you install it.
Install the following packages before installing skype.
libqt4-x11
libqt4-dbus-1
libsigc++2
To install these packages, start a terminal window and copy paste the following command.
su -c 'zypper install libqt4 libqt4-x11 libqt4-dbus-1 libsigc++2'
If you already have these packages, Suse will inform you that you already have the packages and you don’t need nothing to install.
Once you are done installing the above dependencies, you just have to download the latest Skype rpm package from the official skype site (Download link at the end of the post).
Double click the downloaded RPM package and YaST should install it on your machine.
Once installed go to your Application Browser and to start using Skype
Happy voiping!
