Sync Tomboy notes in Ubuntu across computers using Ubuntu One
Using notes is one of the ways to organize your work over your desktop. Tomboy notes is the default desktop note making application in Ubuntu and is pretty neat. As long as you don’t format your machine too often you won’t have to worry about saving your Tomboy notes. However, not many people know that Tomboy has a feature to sync you can configure your Tomboy notes to get synced to your UbuntuOne account. Let’s see how to do this on your Ubuntu 10.04 machine.
1.Right click on tomboy notes and click Preferences.
2. Go to the Synchronization tab and select Tomboy web under the drop down that reads Service.
3. Click Connect to Server and optionally check “Automatically Sync in Background Every” (I chose 10 minutes).
4. An authorization page will open up in your browser.

5. Enter your Ubuntu One credentials to authorize Tomboy to sync automatically with Ubuntu One. Once authorized you will receive a confirmation like the one below:
6. Go back to Tomboy preference window and click save.
That’s it. Now, every time you create new notes they will be synced automatically in your Ubuntu One account and will appear under the “Notes” tab.
Never lose your notes again!
