I’ve have Xubuntu installed and the problem is also present while playing youtube videos. How can I fix this.

Looking into and adjusting the video hue settings (slider is also not completely left) changes nothing.

Nope it’s still blue on with X11 video output. The only normal colouring is with OpenGL, but it lags a lot! I’ve tried everything.. any suggestions

Correction: although this solution temporarily fixed my problem in VLC, the source of the problem wasn’t in default values there but in Dragon Player.

Indeed: video colors are right until I try to play a video with Dragon. Then, they are false (excessive contrast and saturation) not only in Dragon, but also in other softwares like VLC or Firefox + Xine-Plugin.

Now, I’d want to do the same for Xine-plugin, in Firefox, but I don’t know how to modify its parameters. An idea?
