Ubuntu 11.10 has been released. However, it’s difficult to change Gnome themes on Oneiric Ocelot in an easy way. So if you want to get some eye candy going you might need Gnome Tweak Utility installed. Let’s quickly see how to install Gnome Tweak Tool in Oneiric Ocelot.

Open a terminal window and type the following:

sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Once installed Gnome Tweak Tool will appear as Advance Settings in the Menu.

This is a quick post on adding the nightly PPA of Firefox for Ubuntu 11.10. The current version of this nightly build is Firefox 8. Firefox has been loosing constant market share to mainly Google’s Chrome. The result being some quick updates are now being rolled out to Firefox.

Boxee is a fantastic media center application and rocks wonderfully well with Linux. We wrote about how to install Boxee on Lucid Lynx. What’s interesting is that the new version of Boxee plays wonderfully well as a almost full fledged social media center integrating services like facebook, twitter, buzz, digg and flickr.

Download the scripts for Linux: 2008 Wallpapers | 2009 Wallpapers

Download the script and run it from the folder that you want the wallpapers to be downloaded.

Once downloaded, make the script(s) executable

chmod +x natgeo2008.sh

and

chmod +x natgeo2009.sh

Now run the script using the following command

./natgeo2008.sh
