Well most of us don&#8217;t need it however, if you are just too geeky to use your laptop or computer to have an alarm clock that wakes you up, then you can have one. This alarm clock is called as <strong>alarm clock</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Alarm Clock project is a simple alarm clock software for the GNOME desktop. You can schedule your tasks in an easy way.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In Ubuntu all you have to do is type the following command at the terminal. To bring up the terminal hit ALT+F2 and type <em>gnome-terminal</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/runprompt.png" rel="lightbox[605]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-606" title="runprompt" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/runprompt.png" alt="" width="448" height="212" /></a></p>

<div class="wp_syntax"><div class="code"><pre class="bash" style="font-family:monospace;"><span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">sudo</span> <span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">apt-get</span> <span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">install</span> alarm-clock</pre></div></div>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/terminal11.png" rel="lightbox[605]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-613" title="terminal1" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/terminal11.png" alt="" width="550" height="388" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Following are some screen shots for setting preferences.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/alarmclock1.png" rel="lightbox[605]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-608" title="alarmclock1" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/alarmclock1.png" alt="" width="550" height="415" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/alarmclock2.png" rel="lightbox[605]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-609" title="alarmclock2" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/alarmclock2.png" alt="" width="516" height="468" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This utility is pretty much what you need for a basic alarm system and should satiate your needs for waking up early <img src='http://linuxhub.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> .</p>
