ShareFire: A platform independent feedreader

We have good number of options for reading and aggregating feeds. Some common feed readers are Google reader, newsgator etc. The one I use on windows is feed demon. Today we’ll see platform independent feed reader which can be installed on any OS. However, we’ll see how to install it on Ubuntu.

The reader in question is called as ShareFire and is an adobe air based feed reader.

Pidgin on Ubuntu (Jaunty): Configure pidgin to use gtalk and facebook chat

One of my favourite IMs is Pidgin. Though I don’t use it on my Windows partition, it’s a must piece of software on my Ubuntu partition. With Pidgin, I don’t have to miss gtalk client on Ubuntu. Moreover, I can also configure my facebook chat to see my facebook friends if they are online and chat with them without having to login to facebook (which I hate to).
