I find it really great for P2P music. However, as all the P2P come with piracy issues, so does FrostWire. Please respect the pricay aspect of files before sharing or downloading using FrostWire. We are going to see how to install FrostWire on <a class="zem_slink" title="Ubuntu" rel="homepage" href="http://www.ubuntu.com/">Ubuntu</a> (Jaunty) distribution.</p>
<h3>Home Page</h3>
<p><a href="http://www.frostwire.com/" target="_blank">http://www.frostwire.com/</a></p>
<h3>Description</h3>
<blockquote><p>FrostWire, a <a class="zem_slink" title="Gnutella" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnutella">Gnutella</a> <a class="zem_slink" title="Peer-to-peer" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peer-to-peer">Peer-to-Peer</a> client, is a collaborative effort from many <a class="zem_slink" title="Open Source" rel="wikinvest" href="http://www.wikinvest.com/concept/Open_Source">Open Source</a> and freelance developers from all around the world.</p></blockquote>
<h3>Download and Installation</h3>
<p>1. You can download a deb file of FrostWire for your Ubuntu <a href="http://www.frostwire.com/download/?os=ubuntu" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>2. Double click the downloaded deb file (frostwire-4.18.0.i586.deb) to begin the installation of FrostWire.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-151" title="frostwireinstall" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/frostwireinstall.png" alt="frostwireinstall" width="500" height="383" /></p>
<p>3. Depending on your Internet connectivity speed it&#8217;ll download supported files and will install FrostWire.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-152" title="frostwireinstall1" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/frostwireinstall1.png" alt="frostwireinstall1" width="500" height="479" /></p>
<p><strong>Optional</strong></p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t have java, FrostWire will download and install <a class="zem_slink" title="Java (software platform)" rel="homepage" href="http://java.sun.com">Java</a> on your machine. However, you&#8217;ll have to accept the TOS of Java.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-153" title="frostwireinstalljava" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/frostwireinstalljava.png" alt="frostwireinstalljava" width="500" height="467" /></p>
<h3>Running FrostWire</h3>
<p>Once installed you can run FrostWire by typing <span style="color: #888888;">frostwire</span> at <span style="color: #000000;">the </span>run prompt (ALT+F2). Following is what you&#8217;ll see once you start FrostWire for the first time.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-154" title="frostwiremain" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/frostwiremain.png" alt="frostwiremain" width="500" height="405" /></p>
