Which means it&#8217;s totally free and does not have the non-free Firefox art work. Another reason to have IceCat on your machine is because you can have another browser to open side by side Firefox which has the same features as that of Firefox. You can install IceCat on your Karmic machine using the following command:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnuzilla-team/ppa</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/icecat.png" rel="lightbox[615]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-616" title="icecat" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/icecat.png" alt="" width="550" height="388" /></a></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Once you have added the repositories all that is left is to install IceCat. To do so type the following command at the terminal</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>sudo apt-get update &amp;&amp; sudo apt-get install icecat</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/icecat1.png" rel="lightbox[615]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-617" title="icecat1" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/icecat1.png" alt="" width="550" height="388" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">That&#8217;s all you have to do. Following is how IceCat looks:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/icecat2.png" rel="lightbox[615]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-618" title="icecat2" src="http://linuxhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/icecat2.png" alt="" width="550" height="399" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Have fun with a total GPL product.</p>
