Adobe Flash player has become an important part of any Operation syste/browser. Watching youtube or related video services has become an integral part of our daily routines and but for Adobe’s Flash Player watching them would be a little difficult if not impossible.

Although I am not a great supporter of installing commercial (non-open source) softwares on Linux, I believe that Adobe’s flash player is best compared to the open source alternatives which are available. Let’s see how we can install adobe flash player on Ubuntu.

1. Download the required version (depending on your Linux distro) of flash player from the here. In my case I selected .deb for Ubuntu 8.04+.

2. The file (install_flash_player_10_linux.deb) should have been downloaded on your desktop. Double click it to install.

All that is left post installation is to start your firefox to see the flash player in action. Happy youtubing!
