However, at a conceptual level, all such social services fall under the model called as “Sociality with Objects”. Thankfully we are not going to look into it in better details. We are going to see another nice little application which makes the job of using twitter less painful and more efficient on Linux platform.

Qwitik, is a cross platform twitter client and does the simple job of bringing twitter to your desktop. It’s available for both windows and Linux platform.

Installation

You can install it by downloading the 2 deb files namely.

libqtwit1
qwitik

qwitik

Start of by double clicking and installing libqtwit1 file followed by qwitik.

Once installed you can access and start using Qwitik by going to Applications > Internet > Qwitik

Then there are the one’s which integrate with your browser like twitterfox and twitterbar. In linx there are also fancy or rather geeky ways of tweeting from the terminal itself.

HechteTwitter is a twitter client for linux environment which is unintrusive and simple. It’s a lightweight desktop Twitter client, written in GTK+ and Ruby, whose only elusive goal is not to suck.
